WCA Waste Corporation Driver of the Year - Most Safe and Customer Friendly Solid Waste Drivers on the Road

WCA Waste Corporation (WCA) employee, Greg Figueroa, was honored by The National Waste and Recycling Association with the 2017 Driver of the Year Award. Annually, solid waste companies and organizations come together to honor top drivers in the industry. This prestigious honor is based on driving records and commitment to customers. Mr. Figueroa stands out even more by encouraging all WCA employees to remain committed to safety and enhance the overall internal and external customer service goals of WCA.

CEO of WCA, Bill Caesar, stated that “Awarding Mr. Figueroa with the Driver of the Year award exemplifies the caliber of drivers we have operating our fleet, and serves as an excellent example to WCA’s commitment to safety and service to our internal and external customers. We possess one of the best safety records in the industry and that sets us apart. Putting safety first, we limit potential accidents, and we continue demonstrating the commitment to our customers as community partners. We are very proud of Mr. Figueroa and delighted to have him as a member of our team.”

Mr. Figueroa has been driving a commercial truck since he was 18 years old. He began driving in the solid waste industry in 1997 and has led the way for safe driving for over 20 years with an accident and injury free record every year. While logging over 195 miles per day, he serves on WCA’s Safety Committee to help train other WCA employees on proper safety procedures. Customers often praise Mr. Figueroa for his willingness to go above and beyond, while having a great sense of humor.
