Mark Scott proudly represents WCA while racing.

On a typical weekday, you can reach Mark Scott by phone or email at any time, unless he is on his bike. For two hours are dedicated to his bike and the road. If you don’t know Mark, he is the special waste salesman for WCA’s Region 3. He was recently awarded top sales performer for the fourth quarter of 2016.

At 55 years of age, there is no slowing down for Mark.  He adheres to a strict regime and rides 150 to 300 miles per week, affording himself two hours of training almost every day to prepare for cycling races.  Recently he competed in a 100-mile gravel race that was more than six hours long and placed 38th overall out of 588 riders, and 1st in the 55 & up division.

“Cycling is a serious passion for me,” Mark says. “With proper nutrition and training, I can compete with younger guys and usually beat them.” Mark typically places in the top 50 out of more than 2,000 riders when he competes in the major events.

Whether serving internal or external customers or cycling hundreds of miles per week, WCA employees are some of the most customer-oriented and passionate employees in the industry. We share a joy for life, and continuously strive to be the best.
