Service Guidelines

Residential Service

  • We provide 96 Gallon Carts and service is available Monday through Friday.  We observe Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day Only.
  • We service the majority of San Juan County and La Plata County in addition to the City of Aztec, City of Bloomfield, Town of Ignacio, Town of Bayfield, and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio, CO.  Please call our office to ask if we can service your area.
  • Karts must be out by 6am or the night before on your scheduled service day to ensure pickup. 
  • Additional karts available for a minimum fee. 
  • Cardboard must be broken down and bundled no more than 50 lbs. 
  • Tree limbs and branches must be broken down and bundled to 3ft and 50 lbs. 
  • Your City or Town may sponsor a community Clean-Up during certain times of the year at no cost to you, please contact them for more information. 
  • Review your statements and call Transit Waste with questions immediately.
  • By law, please be advised that we cannot accept the following items:

Car/Truck parts and batteries; Hazardous Waste; Asbestos; Animal carcasses; Paint or household chemicals; Oil; Gasoline; Tires; Antifreeze; Electronic waste (computers, keyboards, monitors, televisions, etc.); & All needles/sharps should be sealed in a metal or heavy plastic container

  • If your kart is still full after your service day, please call Transit Waste immediately. 
  • In order to provide the best possible service we would like to have your cooperation in the following areas:
  • Have trash out by 6:00 am on your service day
  • Allow clear access to the containers, all containers must be brought to the main road during the months of December – March.
  • All trash must be bagged and placed in container.  Please call our office to make arrangements for extra pickups.
  • It is our responsibility to protect both our customers and our employees; therefore, inclement weather may cause a delay in providing service.  We will no longer issue credits for acts of God, or weather conditions.

Commercial Service

  •  2yd, 3yd, 4yd, 6yd, and 8yd containers available for permanent or temporary jobs. 
  • Slant tops, Flat tops, bar locks, and bearproof containers available.
  • By law, please be advised that we cannot accept the following items:

Car/Truck parts and batteries; Hazardous Waste; Asbestos; Animal carcasses; Paint or household chemicals; Oil; Gasoline; Tires; Antifreeze; Electronic waste (computers, keyboards, monitors, televisions, etc.); & All needles/sharps should be sealed in a metal or heavy plastic containerWe do accept concrete [2’ x 2’ x 2’], tires, mattresses, box frames, couches, appliances [no Freon], and tree stumps.  However, additional charges apply.  Please call our office for rates.

  • We do not provide service on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day ONLY.  After these holidays, your pickup will be one day after your regular service day for that week only. 
  • In order to provide the best possible service we would like to have your cooperation in the following areas:

Rolloff Service

  • 10yd, 20yd, 30yd, and 40yd containers available for permanent or temporary jobs. 
  • Construction and Demolition, Special Waste, Non-Friable Asbestos, and Recycling.
  • LEED Recycling Certified.
  •  Review your statements and call Transit Waste with questions immediately.
  • We do not provide service on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day ONLY.
